With Geyser Point Bar & Grill opening today, let’s take a look at how the rest of the remaining DVC construction at the Wilderness Lodge is going.
Since our last update a month ago, the state of the construction of the Copper Creek Cabins is largely the same, from the exterior.
Most of the visible construction activity has to do with Boulder Ridge Cove Pool – and specifically, the boulders.
So, for those of you interested in the boulders getting built, here you go…
Looking closer at the new Wilderness Lodge map, you notice some new names.
If you happen to visit the Wilderness Lodge, take some photos of the construction, and are willing to share them, please send them to us.
Any News on a finish date? I will be staying there August 6 for three days. Hoping for it to be finished by then
The pool will be opening in the summer, but no date has been published beyond that.
Thanks Mike. The boulders are looking great. The theming is going to be off the charts.
Anyone have any suggestions on the best villa to try and get at wilderness lodge during constuction? Reservation is for a one bedroom. Really would appreciate any info.
Request a villa on the side facing away from the construction, and you won’t hear any construction noise.

Can you give an update on Roaring Forks renovation? Thanks.
Roaring Fork closed for refurbishment on the same day Geyser Point opened (Feb 13). It should reopen before the start of summer.
That’s all well and good but I’m a long time owner at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge (now called Boulder Ridge Villas) and am not happy about all these changes. It’s bad enough that the construction has disrupted my last several vacations and taken away the peace and privacy of this once serene resort. Now, I’ll have to fight the crowds for everything from meals at the pool bar to the boats and buses to the parks. And, of course, will be priced out of the Copper Creek cabins and villas. All that and the new timeshares are separate from my ownership so will be considered non-home resort reservations with a 7 month reservation window (if I hit the lottery and can actually afford them) instead of the 11 month home resort window. It’s hard enough to find availability at 11 months. Time to sell and go back to my roots at Fort Wilderness me thinks…
Oh, and I miss the quiet pool formerly known as Hidden Springs pool. Unhappy DVC owner.
Seriously, long time DVC member here and have never had trouble getting a room at any resort, at any time of year, but having said that if you can afford the membership to begin with you don’t need to win the lotto, you’re already doing better than most. So get a grip and quit whining.
This is all nice that Disney is adding future timeshares but what about the owners at VWL who have spent their hard earned dollars who get to get to vacation in what LOOKS and SOUNDS like a war zone. There were no openings at the seven month elsewhere (December) so I am stuck at my home resort with no where to relax since I was not going to the parks. Disneys response? Here are three pins and sorry that your experience was not up to standards.
Does anyone know if there be a slide at the boulder ridge cove pool? I didn’t see mention of one though it looks pretty fun otherwise.
There has been no mention of a pool slide for the Boulder Ridge Cove pool.
Will new pool likely be open by May? This will be my kids’ first time and I’m hoping they will enjoy everything without any hinderance.
The oool is slated to open this summer and Copper Creek is opening on July 17. I don’t know if the pool will be open by May.
