The new DVC expansion at the Wilderness Lodge is well under way. The cabins and villas for Copper Creek Villas and Cabins, as well as the new pool and dining for both the new DVC and the existing one (Boulder Ridge Villas), are all coming along.
Boulder Ridge Cove Pool
Disney Vacation Club announced today that Boulder Ridge Cove (the former Hidden Springs Pool) at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (formerly known as The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge) is scheduled to open in summer 2017, featuring a larger sun deck and zero-entry pool. The new pool will feature an abandoned rock quarry theme, including a “Boulder Ridge Railway and Mining Co.” water tower and vintage mine cart.
Here is a closer look at the pool area.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill
In addition to the new pool, there will be a brand-new Quick Service restaurant, Geyser Point Bar & Grill, located between the pool and lagoon.
Construction Video and Photos
Here is a brief video to give you an idea of the state of the construction.
Below are some photos of the current construction for more clarity.

Any word as to if the new quick service location will also open in Summer 2017?
Unconfirmed, but likely
Thanks Mike. We are planning to stay there in November 2017 so fingers crossed both the pool and the quick service are both open by then 🙂
Does this mean that with more rooms I may finally get to stay at my “home” resort ??
No. The cabins and villas are being added to a new and separate DVC resort – Copper Creek Villas and Cabins. Owners at Boulder Ridge Villas (previously known as the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge) will only be able to book the new CCV rooms 7 months in advance. Both DVC resorts at the Wilderness Lodge will be able to take advantage of the new pool and restaurant.
Is the water slide still at the main pool?
No changes are expected for the Silver Creek Springs pool (the Wilderness Lodge pool).
We are looking to stay the first week of December 2017. Do you know if they anticipate construction to be complete at that time? Thank you!
The pool will be opening Summer 2017. I would suspect the restaurant will be completed before your stay. There may still be some ongoing work in Dec, but likely nothing that would impact your stay.
We hope they keep the hidden springs in the pool
Mark, I’ve been enjoying your updates and will be in Disney jan 21,2017. We do have a 4yr old who does still need naps or things get hairy. Should we change our reservation? I’m getting a little concerned looking at the pics. We haven’t been to Disney in 2yrs and really want to enjoy this experience.
You’re likely to see some construction well into the early summer of 2017.
Is Geyser Point replacing Roaring Fork or is RF planning to reopen after construction?
I suspect RF will be replaced by the new construction, but I haven’t seen any confirmation of that.
I’m going in early March 2017 (villas) and received notice that Geyser Point will be open but Roaring Fork will be closed for “refurbishment.” I was going to ask for a southern view so I wouldn’t have to look at heavy construction but now I’m wondering if things will be far enough along that it won’t be that horrible?
